Comfortable learning about Cardizem/Amiodarone gtt. Description: We are seeking an RN specialized in MedSurg/Tele. The facility has 885 licensed beds and is a level 1 trauma center. It is also an academic medical center with specialized designations for chest pain and stroke. The unit accommodates an average of 8 patients per day with a patient ratio of 1 RN to 4 patients and 1 CNA to 8 patients. Patient types may include general medical cases, cardiac issues, pneumonia, UTIs, chest pain, and fluid overload. In this role, you will support patients by managing surgical drains, wound care, and telemetry. The department includes a CNA responsible for vital signs and blood glucose checks, assisting with safety rounds and ADLs. A charge nurse is present and may float to assist as needed, while phlebotomy is available for peripheral blood draws. You will work with RT, hospitalists, and intensivists who are on-site 24/7. Telemetry monitors are available, and RNs are responsible for reading and interpreting strips during their shifts. Familiarity with EMR and various unit-specific equipment is required.
