Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $1,879 per week in Winston Salem, NC

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required, with orthopedic experience License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BCLS, NIH Must-Have: Must have orthopedic work experience Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly lead to cancellation. MUST HAVE ORTHO EXPERIENCE. The unit will accept first-time travelers with Epic experience. Local candidates are accepted. Nurses should be skilled in IV starts and telemetry. ACLS certification is preferred. Charge nurse experience and Level I trauma experience are pluses. Expect a patient ratio of 5-6:1, which may flex up to 7:1 in extreme cases. Travelers could be required to float to any other med-surg unit within the facility to meet staffing needs. Nurses are expected to work every other weekend. If an RN calls out on a weekend, they will be required to make up that time on a weekend. The average daily census on the unit is 37, in 39 rooms. Nurses will care for orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical patients. COVID patients are no longer cohorted; they will be cared for on all units when confirmed positive. This is a fast-paced unit, requiring nurses who can manage pain effectively. Nurses must be customer-service oriented. They will handle multiple pain medications due to the high post-surgical and orthopedic population. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting. All candidates should be open to floating within or near the facility per the job description. Travel pairs are allowed if disclosed and on different units.
