Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $1,879 per week in Winston Salem, NC

The facility features 885 licensed beds and holds a Level 1 Trauma Designation. It is also recognized as a teaching hospital and is an academic medical center. The unit manages a census of 16 beds and is currently full. The patient population includes elderly patients with general medicine geriatric-related diagnoses such as diabetes, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory conditions, renal problems, wounds, and dressing changes. Patients are primarily aged 65 and older and are community dwellers, with a significant focus on mobilization. The patient turnover is approximately 3-4 times per day. Staffing ratios include 5-6 patients per RN and 8 patients per CNA. Support within the department includes CNAs providing basic nursing care and assisting RNs as needed, as well as a receptionist, charge nurse, phlebotomy, and a rapid response team available 24/7. Centralized telemetry monitoring is in place. Clinical educators and therapy teams are also part of the patient care support structure. Technology and equipment utilized include an electronic medical record system, IV pumps, and automated medication dispensing systems.
