Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $1,879 per week in Winston Salem, NC

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of MedSurg experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Skills required include trachs, chest tubes, IV starts, wound care, dressing changes, wound vacs, drains, and cardiac rhythm interpretation. - Experience with non-titrating drips such as Heparin, Lasix, and Protonix is required. - Preferred experience includes non-titrating drips with Cardizem and Amiodarone. Description: The RN will work in a medical-surgical and telemetry setting, focusing on various patient needs. The unit has a total of 20 beds. Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, kidney, liver, GI, respiratory issues, CIWA patients, infections, and wounds. Although mostly focused on medical patients, the unit may also admit general surgery patients. The typical patient to nurse ratio is 1:5. Support within the department includes one CNA per area and a charge RN who can take patients if needed. Telemetry monitoring is available with bedside monitors and a central monitoring station. The EMR system used is EPIC, with IV pumps and medication dispensing through Omnicell. Floating may be required within the scope of practice. The unit is characterized by a supportive and collaborative culture. Scrubs are to be worn in royal blue.
