Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15); 36 or 48 hours per week available; every other weekend required; block scheduling options available (consecutive weekend shifts)

Highlights:

• Fast-paced orthopedic and neuro spine unit specializing in post-surgical care and pain management
• Patient ratio of 5-6:1 (may flex to 7:1 in extreme cases)
• Epic EMR system required; EKG testing required prior to start
• Contract length of 13 weeks or longer available
• Floating to other med-surg units may be required based on facility census and staffing needs
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of orthopedic nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience strongly preferred; first-time travelers must have Epic experience
• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
• Required certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Preferred certifications: ACLS
• Strong skills in IV start, telemetry interpretation and management, pain management protocols, and customer service orientation
• Experience with total joint replacement, orthopedic trauma, post-neurosurgery care, and spinal cord injury patients preferred
• Charge nurse and Level I Trauma experience preferred
