Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), 36 or 48 hours per week available. Every other weekend required. Block scheduling options available (Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday).

Highlights:

• Fast-paced orthopedic and neuro spine unit with medical-surgical and post-surgical patient population
• Patient ratios typically 5-6:1, may flex to 7:1 in extreme circumstances
• Epic EMR system required
• Contract length: 13 weeks or longer, through February 27 end date
• Up to 7 days of requested time off may be approved (no holiday time off available)
• Float requirement to other medical-surgical units within facility based on census needs

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of orthopedic nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• Required certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
• Required skills: IV start, telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with blood product administration, central line care, heparin protocols, PCA, total joint replacement, and ortho trauma
• First-time travelers accepted with Epic experience
• Preferred: ACLS, Charge Nurse experience, Level I Trauma experience
• Must complete EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
