Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 or 48 hours per week available, every other weekend required

Highlights:

• Surgical patient population including colorectal, general surgery, hepatobiliary, orthopedics, and spine procedures
• Patient ratio of 1:6 with interdisciplinary team support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
• Epic charting system with Pyxis and SBAR protocols
• Contract length of 13 weeks or longer, with potential extension through February 27
• Self-scheduling based on unit needs with nursing manager input
• 39-bed unit with 36 hours of orientation provided

Requirements:

• Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
• Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical/telemetry nursing experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS, NIHSS preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Epic charting system experience required
• Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Experience with post-surgical care for general, orthopedic/spine, GI, vascular, and hepatobiliary patients
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Ability to float occasionally to other units as needed
• Strong teamwork approach and professional communication skills
