Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $2,170 per week in Milwaukee, WI

Experience with IV skills. Drip management skills for heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and Amiodarone. Experience in admissions and discharges in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work with ambulatory patients. Basic Medical Surgical skills. Description: The role involves working in a medical-surgical unit providing care to diverse patient types. Common patient conditions include chest pain, post-cath lab care, congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, CVA, TIA, cellulitis, and acute kidney injury. The average patient stay is approximately 36 hours with a typical admission and discharge of 2-3 patients daily. Patient ratios are 1:6-8 for nights and 1:4-5 for days. The unit has dedicated support staff such as a charge nurse, unit secretary, hospitalists, respiratory therapists, and centralized telemetry monitoring. Charting is performed using an electronic medical record system. Travelers will receive a schedule created six weeks in advance with two weeks' notice prior to the start of the schedule. A weekend rotation of every other weekend is required, and the expectation is to work one holiday per season. Scrub colors should not include camouflage or denim. Documentation of pain levels both before and after administering pain medications is essential.
