Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical/Telemetry

Assignment Length: 13 Weeks

Schedule: 36 Hours/Week (3x12s)

Position Details

  • Schedule: 36 hours per week (3x12-hour shifts)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
  • Openings: 2
  • Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
  • Call: None
  • Float: As appropriate to experience

  • 31-bed Acute Care Medical Surgical/Telemetry Unit
  • Patient Ratio: 1:6
  • Patient Population:
    • Adult
    • Geriatric
  • Electronic Medical Record: Cerner

 

Common Patient Diagnoses

  • Small bowel obstructions
  • Diabetic complications
  • Wound care
  • Acute kidney injury (AKI)
  • Pneumonia
  • Sepsis
  • General medical and telemetry patients

 

Requirements

  • Active RN license
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate degree or higher)
  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical Surgical experience
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required
  • Experience with:
    • NG tube placement and management
    • Foley catheter insertion and management
    • Chest tube maintenance
  • Cerner EMR experience preferred
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
  • Strong communication skills, adaptability, and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
