Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $2,416 per week in Marshfield, WI

Job Title: Med Surg/Tele Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Med Surg/Tele Duration: 20 Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year(s) License: Required Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: 1-2 years acute care nursing experience Description: Department: Med Surg RN 7N Nurse-Patient Ratios: Days 1:4-5, NOCs 1:5-6 Common diagnoses/types of patients include Orthopedic Trauma (fractures, joint replacements), Vascular (fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomy, heparin drips, frequent wound dressing changes), Urology (TURP, TURBT, continuous bladder irrigation), Neuro-spine (laminectomy, fusion, back pain), Client Oncology (TAH/OBS), as well as Acute Medical cases. Registered Nurses are required to titrate drips based on a prescribed nomogram. Common titratable and set rate drips include Heparin, with occasional use of nitroglycerin, Bivalirudin, Cardizem, and insulin. There are telemetry technicians monitoring the telemetry 24/7, and RNs do not need to read their own strips. A charge nurse is present on all shifts who takes an assignment. A house supervisor is available on all shifts. Nursing assistants are present on this unit, with ratios of 1:8-10 from 0630-1900, and varying numbers during the night shift. Respiratory Therapy support is present, with available equipment including CPAP, BIPAP, and high flow oxygen therapy, but no ventilators. There is no self-scheduling, but block scheduling will be done to the best of our ability based on staffing needs. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend, and holiday requirements include every other holiday. Floating to other adult medical/surgical nursing units is required. Scrub color is flexible, as long as it is clean and professional. Unit/department-specific orientation involves 1-2 days of precepted floor orientation. All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility.
