Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) registered nurses are sought for an assignment at a healthcare facility in Marshfield, Wisconsin. This position involves providing patient care in a medical-surgical unit with telemetry monitoring, primarily for post-surgical and acute medical patients. The shift is a 12-hour day schedule, with every other weekend and holiday requirements.

Job Details:

  • Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Education and Experience: No specific experience requirement listed; minimum 1 year of acute care nursing experience preferred
  • Location Requirements: Candidates must reside within 80 miles of the facility
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 0700 to 1930; minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Certification and Licensure: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Wisconsin
  • Clinical Responsibilities: Caring for post-surgical patients (orthopedic, urology, GYN/oncology, neurosurgery, vascular, ENT, plastics, gastrointestinal), managing titratable drips (e.g., Heparin, nitro, Cardizem, insulin), reading telemetry strips (GE system) and monitoring remotely via Tele. Charge nurse on all shifts takes assignments, with a house supervisor also present.
  • Department Notes: Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 during 0700-1900 and 1:5-6 during 1900-0730. Nursing assistants are present during the day shift with ratios of 1:8-12; RN ratios may be lower during night shifts.
  • Equipment and Support: RT support present; no vents, use of CPAP, BIPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy.
  • Staffing and Float: Float required to other adult medical-surgical nursing units. No call or standby requirement.
  • Dress Code: Any clean, professional attire; scrubs provided if needed.
  • Orientation: 1 day of computer training and 1-2 days of precepted floor orientation based on skills
  • Additional notes: Clinicians must have clock-in/out procedures and note if previously employed by Marshfield, with an end date at least 6 months prior to submission.
