Job Summary:
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) registered nurse position located in a rural facility in Lufkin, Texas. This position involves caring for adult patients with diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, diabetes, pneumonia, and chronic kidney disease in a medical-surgical telemetry unit. The role requires team-oriented professionals committed to delivering quality patient care in a demanding environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week, start date on 08/31/2026. Shift times are from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. with every other weekend required.
• Required Qualifications: BLS certification from the American Heart Association; at least 18 months of recent medical-surgical telehealth experience; excellent communication and time management skills; rural hospital experience preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience reading electrocardiogram strips; familiarity with Cpap, Bipap, and high flow oxygen therapies; team players with a strong work ethic.
• Additional Information: The unit manages 25 beds with patient ratios of approximately 5-6:1. The team includes charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse educators. PCTs are present on the unit. The unit utilizes the Paragon charting system, transitioning to EPIC by October 30, 2026. Floating to other med/surg units or to the Progressive Care Unit for telemetry holds may be required. Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, or 3 shifts for shorter assignments.
