Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

Seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with a focus on surgical patients to join a dynamic healthcare team. The role involves providing care for patients in various surgical specialties, including colorectal, general surgery, hepatobiliary, orthopedics, urology, and vascular procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer patient care in accordance with established protocols and standards.
• Monitor telemetry and start intravenous (IV) lines as required.
• Participate in self-scheduling based on unit needs and nurse manager input.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure effective patient care and communication.
• Occasionally float to other units as needed.
• Attend to patients on weekends, as part of the requirement to cover every other weekend.

Shift Details

Shifts will be scheduled at night, from 18:45 to 07:15. There is flexibility to offer either 36 or 48 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Experience in travel nursing is accepted for first-time travelers.
• Skills required: IV Start and Telemetry.
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty.

Patient Population

The patients will primarily consist of surgical individuals across various specialties.

Unit Systems

The unit utilizes Pyxis for medication management, SBAR for communication, and EPIC for electronic health records.

Orientation

A comprehensive orientation program of 36 hours will be provided to ensure smooth integration into the unit.

Scrubs

Scrubs are not provided; candidates are expected to wear navy blue or white scrubs.
