Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in orthopedic nursing to join our fast-paced Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will be an energetic and skilled professional capable of managing a variety of patient populations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care for orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical patients.
• Monitor patient vitals and manage pain effectively.
• Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring.
• Float to other medical-surgical units as required based on staffing needs.
• Participate in weekend rotations and fulfill any make-up shifts as necessary.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, specifically in orthopedic care.
• Experience with the EPIC electronic health record system preferred.
• Current certifications: BCLS, NIH.
• Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification.
• Charge nurse experience.
• Experience in Level I trauma settings.

Unit Details

• Staffing ratios: 5-6 patients per nurse, may flex to 7 in extreme cases.
• Average daily census: 37 patients.
• Total rooms and beds: 39.

Work Schedule

This position involves 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15. Block scheduling is available, with the possibility of 36 or 48 hours per week. The unit accepts contract lengths of 13 weeks or longer, with no holiday time off available.
