Description
Job Title: Float Registered Nurse
Profession: Registered Nurse

Shift: Night
Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (19:00 - 07:30)
Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years in MS/Tele
License: Valid Compact RN license required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS required (not expiring within 30 days of start)
Must-Have:
- Open book EKG test required
- CPI preferred
- 1.5 years of MS/Tele experience required
- EPIC experience required
- Experience with patient ratio of 1:6 required
Description:
This position offers an auto offer with minimal RTO.
Candidates are expected to start as soon as possible.
Weekly orientation is provided.
Shorter contracts are accepted, and a preference is given for 24 weeks.
The unit cares for patients with infectious diseases, hospice/palliative care, oncology, cardiac acute care, post-surgical procedures, bariatric, urology, neurology, and orthopedics.
Nurses are required to float to a sister facility.
Candidates must be agreeable to floating to a location that is a 25-minute away.
The role requires working 12 weekend shifts per contract with coverage every other weekend.
Interdisciplinary support includes various essential services such as physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
Patients on the unit may be telemetry monitored remotely.
The unit size varies between 8 to 39 beds depending on the specific needs.
The following skills are crucial for this role:
- Accessing and managing ports
- Blood product administration
- Management of dysrhythmias
- Telemetry monitoring
- Use of rapid response or code teams
- Wound care and management
Candidates must hold ratings of 3-4 in all required skills.
Travelers with one DUI on record may be considered if the incident occurred one year or more ago.
More than one DUI or an incident within a year will result in disqualification.
