Provide direct patient care across Medical Surgical and Telemetry units, with the ability to float to additional specialty units including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Renal, Ortho, Rehab, Bariatrics, Trauma, and ED Observation within an assigned zone
Manage an adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, oncological, renal, post-surgical, gynecological, psychiatric/detox, ENT, and general medicine conditions
Titrate Heparin drips and operate respiratory therapy equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP as needed
Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–6 based on acuity, collaborating with designated charge nurses and nurse aides
Adhere to a zone-based float model with facility assignments communicated 1–2 hours before shift start (Just-In-Time) or via a pre-set weekly schedule released 4–6 weeks in advance
Fulfill weekend shift requirements (6–9 shifts per 6-week schedule) and participate in holiday rotation as needed
Required Qualifications
Active RN licensure in the state of Colorado (or compact eligibility)
Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry experience
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Must reside or obtain housing within a feasible distance to travel throughout the full 60-mile zone radius
Must be physically present in state during the week of orientation, even if initial modules are conducted remotely
Flexibility to float across multiple facilities and acuity levels within the assigned zone, including PCU/Stepdown and low-acuity ICU holds
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience in a neurological nursing setting
Experience working in a float pool or multi-facility environment
Comfort with Just-In-Time scheduling and adaptability to varying unit assignments
