Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Float Pool

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Onsite | Full-Time Hours
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care across Medical Surgical and Telemetry units within a regional float pool zone covering a 60-mile radius
- Float between multiple facilities within the assigned zone based on scheduling needs, which may be communicated 1–2 hours before shift start (Just-In-Time scheduling)
- Care for an adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, renal, urology, general surgery, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT, and general medicine
- Titrate Heparin drips and manage patients requiring RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP
- Maintain flexibility to float into ICU (low-acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele units based on acuity needs
- Adhere to a leadership-issued schedule released 4–6 weeks in advance; submit all time-off requests prior to assignment start
Required Qualifications- Active RN licensure in the state of Colorado (or compact eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Must reside or obtain housing within a feasible distance to float throughout the full 60-mile zone
- Must be physically present in state during the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
- Must be located more than 60 miles from each facility within the zone (no home base facility)
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior neuro nursing experience strongly preferred
- Experience working in a float pool or multi-facility environment
- Comfort with varying acuity levels including PCU/Stepdown and low-acuity ICU holds
