Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 29-bed Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit serving orthopedic trauma, vascular, urology, neuro-spine, OB/GYN oncology, and acute medical patients
- Titrate drips including heparin and occasionally nitroglycerin, bivalirudin, Cardizem, and insulin following prescribed nomograms
- Manage wound dressing changes, continuous bladder irrigation, and post-operative care for a variety of surgical diagnoses
- Support respiratory therapy equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy (no ventilators)
- Assume expanded responsibilities for vital signs and ADLs during evening and overnight hours when CNA coverage is reduced
- Float to other adult medical/surgical nursing units as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure in good standing
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1–2 years of acute care nursing experience
- Ability to work night shift hours (2300–0700)
- Willingness to work every other weekend and every other holiday
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with orthopedic, vascular, or urological post-operative patient populations
- Familiarity with heparin drip management and titration protocols
- Prior experience working alongside telemetry technicians in a monitored unit setting
