Registered Nurse – Med Surg | Atlanta, GA | 13 Weeks Contract

Med Surg nursing is where strong clinical skills, quick thinking, and compassionate patient care come together. We’re looking for an experienced Registered Nurse – Med Surg to join a dedicated healthcare team in Atlanta, GA.

  • Weekly Pay:$1,700 to $1,950
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Medical-Surgical patients
  • Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, pain levels, neurological status, and overall condition
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and other prescribed treatments safely
  • Monitor patients for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to physicians and the healthcare team
  • Assist with procedures, treatments, admissions, transfers, and discharge activities
  • Monitor IV lines, drains, wounds, catheters, and other clinical devices
  • Provide wound care and other treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols
  • Educate patients and families regarding medications, diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, physical therapists, case managers, and other multidisciplinary team members
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Follow infection prevention, medication safety, patient safety, HIPAA, and hospital policies
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and emergency situations
  • Advocate for patients while providing compassionate, evidence-based care
Qualifications
  • Active Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Current ACLS Certification preferred or required by facility
  • Strong knowledge of Medical-Surgical nursing, medication administration, patient assessment, and clinical documentation
  • Experience caring for patients with a variety of medical and post-surgical conditions
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care
