Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $1,738 per week in Florence, SC

Job Title: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years preferred License: South Carolina RN license or Compact license required prior to start Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required Must-Have: Ortho/Neuro experience preferred. Strong patient care skills in medical/surgical settings. Ability to manage a patient load of 6-7 patients. Description: This position is for a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse specializing in orthopedic and neurological care. The shift is 3x12-hour rotations during the day, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. There is a weekend requirement of working every other Saturday and Sunday. On-call duties are not required unless census dictates otherwise, which would require an 8-hour call. Floating to other like units may be necessary to meet facility needs. Preferred candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical/surgical setting. First-time travelers will be considered based on experience. A South Carolina RN license or valid Compact license must be obtained before employment begins. Candidates should possess certifications in BLS. Skills such as accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, and telemetry are fundamental. Experience with patient management for cerebrovascular accidents, surgical drains, and wound care are valuable. Candidates should be prepared to work with a diverse patient demographic, including adolescents and adults. Travelers should be aware of the hurricane season and may be assigned to emergency response teams if necessary. All requested time off must be included at the time of submission; changes after submission will not be accepted. The facility has a requirement for compliance and submission of necessary documentation within specified timeframes.
