Demonstrates competency through critical thinking using the nursing process. Includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds standards of professional performance as described by the American Nurses Association. Involves ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, and leadership. Engages in education, evidence-based practice, research, quality of practice, professional evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes. Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program is essential. Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
