Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,020 per week in Lafayette, LA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years acute care experience License: Compact or state license required Certifications: ACLS BLS Must-Have: Renal experience Patient age group: Adults & Geriatrics Description: The unit cares for patients with various diagnoses, including AKI, CKD, ESRD, DM, COVID+, COPD exacerbations, wound infections, PVD/PAD, GI bleeds, AV fistulas, cellulitis, and general medical/surgical conditions. The staff will be responsible for general medicine and renal patients requiring dialysis. Special procedures include cholecystectomy, appendectomy, wound debridements, central line and dialysis access placements, and amputations. Equipment used includes remote telemetry, peritoneal dialysis management, wound vacs, and EPIC for charting. The nurse may be assigned to an emergency team as needed. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. Float requirements apply, and agency personnel may be prioritized for assignments. Experience with remote telemetry monitoring and management of renal failure is required. Candidates should have strong skills in patient care, including blood product administration, IV protocols, and wound management. Candidates must be prepared to meet the needs of patients in a fast-paced environment.
