Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical Duration: 27 Weeks Shift: Full-Time, Day/Night Variable Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week + 2 on-call shifts in 4 weeks Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Medical/Surgical environment as a Registered Nurse License: Registered Nurse Licensure in Client Certifications: BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS Must-Have: - 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse in a Medical/Surgical setting Description: The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs and develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. He/She provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient's episode. The Registered Nurse on this unit develops specialized skills in the area of patients admitted for medical conditions. He/She provides care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with medical conditions. The Registered Nurse is accountable for patient and family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization. This includes discussing lifestyle changes to support health and healing. The Registered Nurse is expected to promote comfort and provide emotional support in a healing environment. Job Functions: Applies nursing knowledge and skill in the delivery of care.
