Description:
Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally.
Demonstrates competency through the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Upholds the standards of professional performance through ethical practice and effective communication.
Collaborates with healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
Acts as a patient/family advocate.
Performs point of care testing as required.
Demonstrates a high standard of ethical and culturally sensitive behavior.
Utilizes the RN Code of Ethics to guide practice.
Advocates for privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient data.
Assesses the overall needs of the patient/family and analyzes assessment data to identify potential diagnoses.
Identifies expected outcomes/goals and develops an individualized interprofessional plan of care.
Evaluates patient and family educational needs and employs appropriate teaching strategies.
Initiates patient discharge planning at the time of patient contact to facilitate a smooth transition.
Ensures timely and accurate documentation.
Assumes a leadership role and delegates appropriately to support quality patient care.
Engages in professional development and seeks to advance knowledge and competence in nursing practice.
Participates in improvement activities that contribute to quality patient care.
Actively participates in safety initiatives and completes safety-related competencies in a timely manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
