Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med/Surg Duration: 14 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 11.5 hours Experience: Minimum two (2) years of Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital setting with recent experience within the past year. License: Client RN License & Primary Source Verification. Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS (Queens only). Must-Have: - Medication Administration - Wound Care - Infection Control - Med/Surg Nursing - Physical Assessment Description: Assess and plan patient care in consultation with healthcare professionals. Evaluate medical information and provide direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre-and post-surgery patients. Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications. Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs. Adjust specialized medical equipment as needed and interpret and record measurements. Monitor patients' vitals and report adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner. Collaborate on discharge planning with the healthcare team. Answer questions and educate patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care. Maintain and update patient files, medical charts, and health records. Adhere to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols. Required skills also include IV therapy, post-operative care, patient education, telemetry monitoring, and EPIC EMR experience.
