Position: Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Med Surg)
Location: Redding
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 3×12
Experience Required: 2 Years
Weekly Pay:$2220 to $2420
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a wide variety of medical and post-surgical conditions
Perform thorough patient assessments and continuously monitor vital signs, pain levels, and overall clinical status
Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments safely and accurately
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
Monitor patient progress and promptly communicate significant changes to physicians and the healthcare team
Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, procedures, surgeries, and discharge planning
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, recovery expectations, and home care instructions
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Follow infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and hospital policies
Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting positive patient outcomes
Requirements
Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Surgical nursing experience
Current BLS Certification required
ACLS Certification preferred
Strong knowledge of adult medical-surgical nursing practices
Excellent assessment, communication, clinical judgment, and critical thinking skills
Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced acute care setting
Commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care
