Roles & Responsibilities
Assess, monitor, and document patient status across medical-surgical populations during night shift
Administer medications and treatments safely and in line with facility protocols
Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, utilizing BLS and ACLS skills as needed
Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and smooth handoffs
Perform thorough discharge planning and patient/family education to support recovery and continuity of care
Maintain accurate, timely electronic and paper charting consistent with facility and regulatory standards
Adhere to infection control procedures and ensure TB screening compliance
Qualifications
Active California RN license (required)
Current BLS certification (required)
Current ACLS certification (required)
Proof of negative TB test within 12 months of contract start date (required)
Comfort and willingness to work night shifts (no night-shift exceptions per posting)
Medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
Education
Valid California RN license required; nursing diploma, ADN, or BSN (preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
Strong medical-surgical nursing knowledge and clinical assessment skills
Proficiency in safe medication administration and IV care
Ability to manage acute changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately
Solid documentation practices and attention to detail
Good communication and teamwork skills for working nights with limited onsite resources
Familiarity with bedside patient education and discharge instructions
