Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed Medical Surgical unit serving surgical and med/surg overflow patients including orthopedic, urologic, bowel, pulmonary, and cardiac cases
Monitor patients utilizing remote telemetry monitored by the ICU team
Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately within the EPIC EMR system
Maintain a patient ratio of up to 1:6 and adapt to census-driven needs
Float to other med/surg departments as needed
Adhere to standby call requirements, remaining available to report during the scheduled 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM shift window if placed on standby
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
Flu vaccination required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations and exceptions are not accepted
Willingness to wear black scrubs per dress code policy
Preferred Experience / Skills
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from AHA only
PALS or CPEN certification
Experience in surgical, med/surg, or related specialty environments
Friendly, outgoing personality with flexibility and strong team-player attitude
