Perform patient assessments every 8 hours or more frequently as indicated by clinical condition, and notify the physician of admissions and obtain orders per departmental policy
Collaborate in the development and ongoing review of outcome-oriented patient care plans, incorporating patient and family input and prioritizing care based on patient needs
Implement the nursing plan of care for an assigned group of med/surg patients, including performing procedures, administering medications safely, and providing patient education
Monitor patients via remote telemetry (ICU-monitored) and communicate significant changes in patient condition or medical orders in a timely manner
Complete accurate and timely documentation of care and pertinent data in EPIC EMR in accordance with organizational policies
Float on a rotational basis as required and participate in unit and organizational performance improvement activities
Required Qualifications
Current RN license; must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in Oklahoma or currently licensed in the state of Oklahoma
Minimum 2+ years of Med/Surg RN experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
Proficiency with EPIC EMR
Ability to work every other Friday and Saturday night as required by the facility
Preferred Experience / Skills
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Experience caring for med/surg patients with diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, chest pain, and respiratory illness
Outgoing, team-oriented personality with flexibility and strong interpersonal skills
