    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical

    Location

    Evansville, Indiana

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Day Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 41-bed Medical-Surgical unit serving a post-surgical, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, and CHF patient population
    • Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments using strong critical thinking skills
    • Manage clinical skills including remote telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, straight cath/Foley catheters, ostomies, Heparin drips, blood/blood product administration, tracheostomy care, and PCA management
    • Float within skillset to other campuses as needed, with a minimum of 2 hours notice provided for cross-campus float assignments
    • Adhere to weekend and holiday scheduling requirements, including three weekends per six-week schedule and every other holiday
    • May be required to precept students and new hires in a teaching hospital environment
    Required Qualifications
    • Current, active compact RN license required
    • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
    • NIHSS certification required
    • Minimum of 2 years of recent, strong Medical-Surgical experience
    • At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required
    • Trauma Level II experience required
    • Recent Epic EMR experience required
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience working in a high-acuity Medical-Surgical environment with complex patient populations
    • Demonstrated ability to adapt to change, manage a demanding workload, and work effectively within a team
    • Familiarity with cross-campus float assignments and multi-site health system environments
