    Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

    Location

    Fargo, ND

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Onsite | 12-hour shifts, days and/or nights based on unit needs; every other weekend and every other holiday required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide nursing care to adult patients on a 32-bed medical-surgical unit with all single rooms
    • Perform head-to-toe and focused assessments, administer medications, and document all patient care activities
    • Communicate with the interdisciplinary team and update patients and families on the plan of care
    • Advocate for patients as needed and demonstrate thorough understanding of a variety of disease processes
    • Utilize unit equipment including electronic health records, automated dispensing systems, patient monitors, glucometers, and bladder scanners
    • Float to other medical-surgical units within the Fargo area as needed based on unit census and staffing requirements
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license in North Dakota or a valid Compact state RN license
    • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
    • Minimum of 2 years of recent bedside nursing experience in a large hospital setting (250+ beds)
    • Experience in a busy Level 1 trauma center
    • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records (please indicate on resume where EPIC was utilized)
    • Prior travel nursing experience required; willingness to float to all units and locations within the Fargo area as needed
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively within a team environment
    • Familiarity with Philips Care Monitors, OmniCell, and other medical-surgical unit equipment
    • Demonstrated ability to adapt to rotating day and night shift schedules based on unit needs
