Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days, 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Every Other Weekend Required | On-Call: PRN Low Census
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with standard nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:6, with potential flex to 1:7 during unplanned staffing absences
Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, including participation in Rapid Response situations
Administer medications including insulin and perform telemetry monitoring as required
Accurately document all patient care activities using Epic electronic health records
Float within scope to meet facility needs across like units as required
Participate in emergency response team assignments during hurricane season (June through November) as directed by the facility
Required Qualifications
Active South Carolina RN license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start date
Current BLS certification
Demonstrated skills in Med/Surg, Telemetry, Insulin administration, and Rapid Response
Experience with Epic electronic health records system
Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
Current ACLS and/or NIHSS certification
Experience with MS/Tele or combined Medical Surgical and Telemetry units
