Provide direct patient care on an acute Medical/Surgical unit serving adult and geriatric populations (ages 18+)
Utilize critical thinking skills and decisive judgment to assess, plan, and implement individualized patient care plans
Operate and monitor unit equipment including telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pumps, bladder scanners, and Dynamaps
Document all patient care activities accurately using the Cerner electronic health record system
Maintain patient ratios of 5:1 to 6:1 while working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
Float occasionally to like units as needed to support staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
Current ACLS certification
Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate, timely action
Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel placement
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience working on a Medical/Surgical unit
Familiarity with Cerner EHR documentation
Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
