GHG Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Anchorage, Alaska.

Opportunity:

ICU RN

Job Details:

• 13-week assignment with night shifts scheduled 3x12 hours
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• No on-call required
• Weekend shifts required as needed to cover open shifts
• May float to like units within scope to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling not available
• Patient ratios are 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Charting system: Epic experience required
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Parking is free
• Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
• All requested time off must be included at time of submission
• Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patient, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), ICP monitoring, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, PICC line management, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, ventilator management, and more
• Special equipment includes: IABP, CRRT, Impella, Tandem Heart, Belmont, Camino, and CoolGuard
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and more

Facility:

This is an acute care hospital recognized as a Magnet Facility and a Level II Trauma Center, and has been named a Best Hospital in its state by U.S. News & World Report. The facility operates a 27-bed ICU with a daily census of approximately 21 patients and treats a wide range of complex diagnoses including medical and surgical cardiac cases, open heart recovery, neuro intervention, stroke, sepsis, respiratory failure, trauma, spinal cord injury, and targeted temperature management.
