Travel Nurse RN - Mother Baby - $2,180 per week in Seattle, WA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Postpartum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day shifts Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: RN must be skilled with newborn care: assessments, vital signs, glucose screening, baths, complex feeds, phototherapy, and medication administration. RN must be skilled with magnesium infusions, insulin infusions, PCA/PCEA infusions, and heparin infusions. Description: The Postpartum RN will provide care for mothers and their newborns in a hospital setting. Ratios are 1 nurse to 3 patients. Weekends are required unless stated otherwise in the schedule. Floating may be required to other perinatal units within the hospital. Candidates must have experience with high-risk maternal patients. Clinical skills needed include but are not limited to managing magnesium and insulin infusions. The RN will be responsible for newborn assessments and phototherapy as needed. All newborns will be admitted to the unit in the same room as their parents. Patient age groups include adolescents, infants, and adults. Daily census ranges from 12 to 36 patients. The unit consists of 18 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. RN will be taught in detail about discharge teaching to parents and infant care. Ensure precise administration of medications, including IV antibiotics and blood products. Participation in educational programs for parents related to breastfeeding and car seat safety will be required. The position involves hands-on work with a diverse patient population with varying needs.
