Description:
The RN is a licensed professional who coordinates patient care delivery.
The focus is on specific patient populations and health conditions.
Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient and identifies nursing diagnoses.
The RN develops and implements an individualized plan of care.
Evaluation of the patient's response is a critical component of care.
The RN utilizes knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment.
Assisting patients in transitioning through the healthcare encounter is essential.
The RN works to prevent complications or delays.
Delegation of interventions to healthcare personnel is based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act.
The delegation considers each patient's condition and the competencies of the employee.
Weekends may be required.
