Travel Nurse RN - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in San Diego, CA

Contract | 13 or 18 weeks | 3x12-hour shifts | Variable Days/Nights or Straight Nights (19:00–07:00 / 07:00–19:00) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Level 4 NICU environment, including pre- and post-operative care for neonatal surgical patients
• Operate and monitor advanced equipment including oscillators, conventional ventilators, CPAP, nasal cannula specialty gases, and manage PICC lines, Broviacs, UAC/UVC/PAL lines, trachs, ostomies, and G-tubes
• Perform complex line management involving multiple drips and hemodynamic monitoring
• Maintain active California RN License throughout the duration of the assignment
• Float within scope of practice to other units (PICU, CTICU, Med Surg) and satellite NICU campuses as needed; mileage reimbursed from home base location
• Must be available to work weekends with full scheduling flexibility and is expected to work 2 of the following 3 holidays (including Eves): Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN License required; pending license considered if an ETA for posting is available at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent Level 4 NICU experience; strong Level 3 NICU candidates with surgical experience on newborns may be considered
• Cardiac experience required
• BLS certification required
• Advanced NRP certification required
• Must have reliable personal transportation; willingness to float to satellite campuses required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification preferred
• Experience at a children's hospital or with a dedicated pediatric patient population
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• First-time travelers with verified Level 4 NICU experience will be considered
