Travel Nurse RN - Neuro - $1,897 per week in Winston Salem, NC

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical - Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years with 1 year of direct Medical Surgical experience. License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: BCLS, NIH, NIHSS, ACLS preferred. Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 years total experience: 1 year of Medical Surgical and 1 year of additional relevant experience. - Experience in IV start, telemetry, and management of dysrhythmias. - Must have experience with stroke and neurosurgery patients. - Must pass EKG testing prior to start. Description: This position involves caring for patients primarily with neurological conditions. The main patient population includes individuals who have had strokes, seizures, and subdural hematomas. Patients may also include those recovering from neurosurgery and other neuro diagnoses. The care team will consist of interdisciplinary support, including therapy and respiratory services. Nurses will be required to float to other Medical Surgical and telemetry areas as needed. Travelers will be expected to work every other weekend. Attendance is mandatory for scheduled shifts, including weekends. Frequent floating may be required to meet unit needs. Electronic health record systems will be utilized for patient documentation. The unit typically operates with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6. Training will be provided for specific unit procedures as needed.
