Job Title: Neuro ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Neuro Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 Years Required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 years of experience in a critical care setting. - Experience with stroke management, ICP management, seizure management, and critical care patient management. - Familiarity with titrating drips and invasive equipment. - Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty. Description: This position requires a registered nurse in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit. The unit cares for various types of neurological patients. Ideal candidates will have significant experience in managing patients with strokes and other neurological conditions. Responsibilities include monitoring patients, administering medications, and managing critical care equipment. The staffing ratio may vary between 2:1 to 3:1 depending on the patient load. Candidates should be open to floating to other critical care units as needed. Every other weekend shift is required. Special skills required include ICP monitoring, ventilator management, and telemetry. This role involves working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide high-level patient care. Scrubs are not provided; candidates are required to wear navy blue or white. All requested time off must be pre-approved, and no additional time off will be accepted after signing. Travel experiences are preferred. The unit operates within a comprehensive stroke center environment. Employee must comply with all health and safety regulations.
