Schedule: 12-hour night shifts; every other weekend required; float to other ICUs and intermediate units as needed; scheduling based on unit needs

Highlights:

• 26-bed Neuroscience and Surgical ICU within a comprehensive stroke center
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 2:1, occasionally 3:1 or 1:1 based on acuity
• Advanced critical care environment specializing in stroke management, ICP monitoring, seizure management, and post-neurosurgery care
• Epic documentation system with Pyxis medication management
• Contract length of 13 weeks or longer, with assignments extending through February 27
• 24-hour orientation with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Demonstrated competency in ICP monitoring, ventilator management, and telemetry
• Experience with arterial line management, central line care, EVD management, hypothermia protocols, lumbar drains, and titrating vasoactive and cardiac drips
• Proficiency in managing blood product administration, continuous IV sedation, and interpreting dysrhythmias and ABGs
• Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to start date
• North Carolina or Compact state RN license (pending acceptable for submission)
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays
