Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse in Washington, District of Columbia. This position involves providing specialized care for neonates ranging from as early as 23 weeks gestation to 4 months. The role requires stabilization of neonatal emergencies, performing bedside procedures, and assisting with high-risk deliveries. The nurse will work a night shift on a 12-hour schedule for an eight-week contract.

Job Details:

  • Location: Washington, District of Columbia
  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state/district; NICU experience, specifically 2 or more years; Neonatal experience with certification in NRP and BLS; ability to perform vents, oscillators, pressors, and care for micro preemies.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with high-frequency oscillation, nitric oxide inhalation therapy, and bedside procedures such as intubations, septic workups, peripheral IV insertions, and medication administration.
  • Additional Information: The role involves responding to neonatal emergencies, attending high-risk deliveries and C-sections, and providing comprehensive neonatal careincluding respiratory support, parental teaching, and bedside diagnostics. Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility location.
