Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurse position available in Washington, District of Columbia. This role involves providing specialized care to neonatal patients with varying conditions, including preemies as small as 23 weeks gestation up to 4 months old. The nurse will be responsible for managing complex ventilator support, emergency assessments, and performing bedside procedures in a Level III NICU setting.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per day, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state/district, NICU experience of at least 3 years, certifications including STABLE, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ventilators, oscillators, pressors, and care for micro preemies.
  • Additional Information: Must live at least 50 miles from the facility. On-call responsibilities are required. The NICU handles a diverse patient population with conditions such as respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, congenital anomalies, seizures, and meconium aspiration syndrome. Nurses assist with bedside procedures including intubations, blood work, and parental education.
