Job Title: RN, Nurse Lead Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Nurse Lead Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: Not specified Experience: Minimum 5 years preferred License: Registered Nurse licensure required Certifications: CPR/BLS certification required, ACLS certification required, PALS certification required Must-Have: - Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience required - Supervisory experience or demonstrated supervisory skills required Description: This position involves providing unit-based leadership in the development and provision of clinical services. Supervises and directs unit personnel, ensuring quality patient care and satisfaction. Initiates and coordinates individual and team conferences with health team members, patients, and families to revise care plans. Directs and monitors personnel in patient care activities to maintain standards of care. Participates in patient care as needed, fostering an environment of patient and family-centered care. Makes rounds to assess patient care needs and introduces self to patients and families. Solicits feedback on nursing services and addresses any concerns. Develops strategies to improve customer satisfaction for patients, families, and staff. Investigates and resolves patient care and operational issues as necessary. Recommends policy and procedure changes in collaboration with nursing leadership. Ensures compliance with safety goals, hospital policy, and quality measures. Works with clinical team members to implement staff development activities to enhance patient care. Assesses staffing requirements continually and manages personnel based on patient acuity and needs. Assigns staff to patients and care activities based on an assessment of skills and patient needs. Arranges for staff relief for breaks and meal periods. Handles requests for schedule adjustments effectively. Evaluates performance of unit employees, including coaching and disciplinary actions when appropriate. Participates in hiring and termination decisions for unit personnel. Instructs new staff on job duties and responsibilities. Ensures that the department and equipment are maintained in a safe and operational state. Facilitates repairs of any broken or malfunctioning equipment. Maintains cleanliness standards within the department. Keeps management informed of unit activities and special needs in a timely manner. Strives to keep staffing costs within budget. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
