Travel Nurse RN - Oncology - $2,369 per week in Washington, DC

Job Title: Nurse Navigator Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Oncology Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent experience required License: Must have DC license in hand Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Experience as a nurse navigator or nurse coordinator - Experience with oncology patients - Skills in care and management of ports, central lines, and IVs - Ability to assess and manage acute conditions such as tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, extravasation injury, hemorrhage, sepsis, spinal cord compression, and neutropenic precautions Description: The nurse navigator provides care to oncology patients. This role involves patient education on cancer care and treatments. The nurse navigator performs skincare and wound care. They assess for radiation toxicity and address social needs. Nursing staff may be called to assess concerning signs or symptoms. They will consult with physicians or emergency services as necessary. Charting will be done in the specified electronic system. The nurse navigator is also responsible for telephone triage and care coordination. They assist with appointment scheduling and vital sign assessments. Clienttion treatments will be administered by certified therapists. Nursing staff will support patients reporting for radiation therapy Monday to Friday.
