Job Title: Oncology Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact Certifications: BLS required, Chemotherapy certification required Description: 1 position open. This is a new position created for a new rate from a previous job posting. Shift is during the day, 5 days a week, with 8-hour shifts. Start date is as soon as possible. There is no blocked scheduling requirement. No weekend or on-call requirement. The competent nurse practices independently in the same or similar clinical setting. Demonstrate awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans. Continuously develops the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Responsibilities include meeting expectations of applicable competencies. Consistent with nursing scope and standards of practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Using appropriate protocols, administers medications and treatments and monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the prescribed treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
