TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Oncology RN in Columbus, Ohio, 43210!

Oncology Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Oncology Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Must have medical-surgical oncology and at least one inpatient hematology oncology experience in work history. A minimum of two years of overall nursing experience is required. License: Registered Nurse license must be in hand at time of submission. Certifications: BLS ACLS Chemo Certification (ONS/ONCC) NIHSS (preferred) Must-Have: Experience with leukemia and blood dyscrasias. Current acute care experience within the last 12 months in the specialty. Description: This position is focused on the care of newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. The unit has a high number of blood products, IV antibiotics, and electrolytes. Staffing ratios are aimed at 1:4 but can be 1:5 depending on the situation. Variable weekend work based on unit needs is expected. No set or blocked scheduling; self-scheduling requests are accepted to accommodate preferred schedules. A heavy emphasis is placed on infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention. Daily census on the unit is approximately 22 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Ability to perform telemetry monitoring and the interpretation of dysrhythmias is required. Skills needed include IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, and starting IVs. Computerized charting experience is necessary, preferably with the EPIC system. Candidates must be aware of the urgency of the credentialing process, including fingerprinting. When applicable, two professional references are required, with at least one from a manager or someone in a formal leadership capacity.
