    Years of experience REQ: 2 Years Oncology Experience Required. Previous Charge Experience and Teaching Hospital Experience preferred.
    First-timers accepted: (Y/N) Yes
    Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit.
    Weekend REQ: 8 weekend shifts in Saint Luke’s 6-week schedule period, combination of F/S/S.
    Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? yes, Regular floating may be required between departments, units and facilities as needed.
    Certs REQ: BLS
    Skills REQ: IV Therapy/ Infusions: Administration of coagulation factors, Antifungals, Antivirals, Blood/Blood product administration, Care and management of ports, Central line blood draw, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, Infusion pump management, Intravenous. Medications: Antibiotic, Antiemetic, Corticosteroids. Oncologic Emergencies: Sepsis. Psychosocial Care: Advanced directives, Patient/Family education and support. Symptom management: Alteration in skin and mucous membranes, Altered mental status, Constipation/diarrhea, Dysphagia, Edema, Nausea/vomiting, Neuropathy. Professional Knowledge and Skills: Chest tube care and management, Colostomy care and management, Foley catheter insertion/management, Isolation Precautions, Neutropenic precautions, Telemetry Interpretation, Telemetry monitoring, Wound care. Pain Management: IV push narcotic agents, Medication tolerance/dependence, assessment, PCA pump management, Transdermal patches. Surgery: Post surgical care.
    Skills Preferred: IV Therapy/ Infusions: Accessing Ports. Oncologic Emergencies: Acute Tumor Lysis Syndrome (ATLS), Anaphylaxis, Extravasation injury, Hemorrhage. Psychosocial Care: Hospice care, Withholding/withdrawing treatment. Care of Patient With: Bladder/Kidney Cancer, Brain cancer, Breast Cancer, Colorectal Cancer, Ear/Nose/Throat Cancers, Kidney Cancer, Leukemia/Blood Dyscrasias, Liver Cancer, Lung cancer, Lymphoma/Non-Hodgkins lymphoma, Melanoma, Multiple Myeloma, Ovarian Cancer/Uterine Cancer, Pancreatic Cancer, Prostate Cancer. Chemotherapy: Body fluid handling post Chemotherapy, Oral Administration of chemotherapy, Recognize/ communicate abnormal lab values. Professional Knowledge and Skills: Tracheostomy care/management. Work Settings: Inpatient oncology. Radiation therapy: Radiation safety precautions, Wound care. Biotherapy: Recognize/manage side effects.
    **Special Procedures/Unit Details: Primary oncology unit treating all types of cancer in all phases of care from work-up to completion of therapy. Administer inpatient chemo regimens. Uro-gyn and Gyn-onc surgical population - providing post op care. Step-down neuro overflow unit for strokes, head bleeds, and other neurological needs.
