Description:
Number of Beds: 17 Operating Rooms; 1 Bed ER.
The facility is not trauma designated.
Number of Staff: 70.
Type of Staff: One scrub and one circulator per room on day shift.
Support techs are available to assist with positioning and other duties.
Most surgeons are assisted by a Physician Assistant, Certified Surgical Technician, or Nurse Practitioner during surgery.
There is no night shift.
Patient Ratios and Type of Equipment:
The department specializes in orthopedic procedures.
Electronic Medical Record system in use is Meditech.
Typical Procedures Performed:
All orthopedic large joints, hand, feet, scopes, and spine procedures, with no neurosurgery.
Dress Code:
Scrub color is Ciel Blue (sky blue).
The facility does not provide scrubs.
Unit Guidelines/Policies:
Staff should report to work at 6:45 AM for huddles on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The shift ends at 5:15 PM, with no second shift relief.
Call is approximately four times per month, Monday through Friday only, with most calls resulting in staying over to finish cases.
