Job Summary
This role is for a dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) in Lawton, Oklahoma. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive, patient-family centered care within the operating room and other perioperative service areas. This position involves advocating for patients across all populations, ensuring adherence to surgical standards of nursing practice, and collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
The OR RN will be responsible for the full spectrum of nursing care, from initial assessment and nursing diagnosis to the development and implementation of patient care plans. This is a 13-week contract assignment, working 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, primarily during PM hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the operating room and perioperative services.
- Act as a patient advocate for all patient populations.
- Ensure adherence to surgical standards of nursing practice.
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team, including RNs, LPNs, NAs, physicians, and ancillary disciplines, in patient/family assessment.
- Perform comprehensive head-to-toe patient assessments and reassessments according to policy, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
- Adequately assess and reassess patient pain, utilizing appropriate pain management techniques.
- Develop and implement total nursing care plans based on patient assessment and nursing diagnoses.
- Provide leadership by working cooperatively with nursing and other patient care personnel to maintain professional nursing practice standards.
- Participate in and implement age-specific care and interactions.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program.
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an Operating Room setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
