Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse - Neurology
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment in a busy Neurology clinic located in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. This role is essential in providing comprehensive care to neurology patients within an outpatient setting, focusing on efficient patient flow and direct support.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing patient check-in and rooming, assisting with various in-office procedures, and delivering thorough patient education. Key duties also include patient triaging to assess urgency and coordinating necessary follow-up appointments and surgeries, all while utilizing the Athena EMR system.
Key Responsibilities
Room and check-in patients efficiently, preparing them for physician consultations.
Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with in-office procedures.
Provide comprehensive patient education regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and self-care.
Perform patient triaging to assess urgency and direct care appropriately.
Schedule and coordinate diagnostic procedures, follow-up appointments, and surgeries using Athena EMR.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of one (1) year of recent Registered Nurse experience in an Ambulatory Care setting.
Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or a compact state RN license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Skills & Competencies
Proficiency in patient assessment, triage, and care coordination.
Demonstrated ability to assist with various medical procedures.
Strong patient education and communication skills.
Proficient in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, specifically Athena.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
Shift Details
Shift Type: Day Shift (AM)
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Days per Week: 5 (Monday - Friday)
Weekends: No weekend requirements
Call Requirements: Not specified.
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: August 25, 2026
Licensing Requirements
Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact state RN license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
